Anti-Suffragette Postcard, c.1914

Anti-suffragette postcard captioned 'Votes for women -while in the act of Voting Mrs Jones remembers that she has left a cake in the oven'. Joke cards like this demonstrate the hostility that existed toward the idea of women being allowed to vote combined with casual sexism.
