Coal Hutch, Cleland, 1930s

Hutches were used to transport coal from the coal face to the surface. It opened at one end so that the coal could be tipped out of it. This hutch was recovered from Spoutcroft Mine, a small privately-owned drift mine near Cleland. It closed in the mid-1970s.
