Rope Haulage Sign

In a mine it was vital that the miners could communicate with the engineman driving an underground haulage or winding engine. Normally this was done with a simple bell and this sign explains how many rings to use to tell the engineman what to do. This sign was collected from the Craigend Brick and Tile Works near Polmont where fireclay was mined as well as turned into bricks.
