Tipping Fireclay Hutch, 1900s

Used at Hurll’s Brickwork’s, Gartliston to transport fireclay within the works. The body could be tipped while the wheels remained on the rails.

Sorry, completely wrong. Never seen a hutch such as this in Gartliston, the ones used there were longer than their width, if you know what I mean, and they carried clay from the mixing mill to the stoves where the bricks were made, NOT from the mine.
