Fireclay Edging Tile, 1800s

This 'Barley Sugar' edging tile was made by the Garnkirk Fireclay Company. As well as ordinary firebricks, the company made a wide range of fireclay products, including specialist blocks for furnaces and coke overs, pipes and decorative garden products, like this edging tile.
