First Aid Kit, 1930s - 1940s

The first aid kit is a canvas shoulder bag with four inner compartments. Within the compartments are gauze dressings that follow “Ministry of Mines Coal Mines General Regulations- First Aid 1930 and 1935”, bandages, safety pins, rope, tourniquet, Tannin Jelly for burns and loose wooden rods. Many of the items are from Glasgow based wholesale druggists and manufacturing chemist Cockburn & Co. Ltd.
