Ticket costing 1/6 for a picture show organised by the Stay At Home Holiday Committee in aid of an Old Folks Re-Union Social. The Picture House was also known as the Regal for a time but many locals referred to it as “the Scratcher”.

I spent many a Saturday afternoon in the “ Scratcher” as a child, and never knew the proper name of the cinema.
