Airdrie Cotton Mill, around 1910

Known as "Goldie's Mill" after Thomas Goldie who over a 30 year period from 1859 was its manager and then owner had begun as a spinning and weaving mill. The spinning part of the mill burned down in 1839 and spinning ceased altogether in 1860 but by the end of Goldie's life the mill was producing a variety of clothing items.
