Infilling of the Monkland Canal at Sheepford Locks Coatbridge, April 1965

The canal locks structure is visible in the foreground in this view looking east towards Locks Street. The infilling operation appears to be in its early stages. Sheepford Viaduct is visible in the background and the building on the right, now a builders' merchant, was previously part of the Scotia Chemical Works.
