The Classic Cinema, Wishaw, around 1970

Opened on Kirk Road as the Cinema in 1920. Originally part of the Thomas Ormiston circuit, it was sold to Gaumont in 1928. It became the Classic in 1967 but within a few years the stalls were converted into an amusement arcade, retaining only a small cinema upstairs.

This photo is from the late 80’s when it became the Big Apple amusement arcade and snooker hall. I remember watching movies here up until ‘87. The Lost Boys was the last film I watched here.
