Man with a Clydesdale Horse at Summerlee

This horse may have been used to pull barges on the Monkland Canal or simply to move things about at the Summerlee Iron Works.

Here the view appears to be outside the workshops at Summerlee. Behind the horse you can see mine hutches used to carry coal and other minerals from deep underground in mines owned by the Summerlee Iron Company. These hutches have likely just been made or repaired in the workshops.
