Co-op Pediment, 1898

This pediment was rescued from the Co-op buliding in Muiryhall Street in Coatbridge before it was demolished in 1988. It was part of the facade of the New Central Grocery. It is made of sandstone and depicts three figures representing justice.

Reminiscing about working in the Coatbridge CO OP 10 Branch in Chapel St Airdrie loved it , 1970 and still remember my share number , and customers numbers too, you got to know all customers and their wee stories , pity it’s not like that today ,
