Engineer's Sine Bar

This precision measuring tool is used by engineers to measure angles in a workpiece. This one was used by an engineer in Motherwell's Lanarkshire Steel Works.

The perfectly flat top surface is parallel to a line running through the centre of the two discs. The holes in the bar have no purpose other than to reduce weight and provide some grip.
