Model of Clyde Alloy No.3 Strip Mill

This is a model of a mill for producing strip steel in Clyde Alloy's Craigneuk Steel Works in Motherwell.

The model was made by Walter Wyllie, who worked on the actual mill. Mr Wyllie designed the curved channels that returned the hot steel back through the rollers.

Mr Wyllie kept the model in his garage and the firm were so impressed with it that they would take visitors to the garage to view it.
