Coatbridge Mines Rescue Memorial Plaque

A memorial to the memories of William Gibb, Robert Laird and William Brodie of the Lanarkshire Coalmasters' Rescue Stations. The three died while attempting to put out an underground fire in a shale mine near Broxburn in 1919.

Laird and Gibb were members of the Coatbridge Mines Rescue team while Brodie was from the Bathgate team.
