Magneto Electric Machine

An advanced example of patent (quack) medicine from the early twentieth century. This device, similar to the later violet ray machines, is supposed to treat illnesses by means of electric shocks, though this one is named so as to attribute the healing effect to magnetism. The machine comes in a fitted wooden case, with instructions printed on the inside of the hinged lid. The machine does not rely on mains power, but on a turning handle and dynamo, with the gears visible in the box.
