Tartan Mini-dresses, Coatbridge, 1970s

Pair of mini-dresses decorated with lace ruffs, cuffs and sporrans, worn by singing duo Fran and Anna Watt. The sisters capitalised on the popularity of “tartan kitsch” and had a range of similar dresses, as can be seen on album covers such as “Fran & Anna” (Nevis Records, around 1970).
