British Rail Cap, around 1980 - 1990s

British Rail was the government organisation that ran Britain’s trains during the time after the railways were nationalised in 1948. This unworn cap was issued to a British Rail employee during the later years of the organisation before privatisation in 1997. It bears the double-arrow logo of British Rail which was introduced in 1965. Today the logo is still used on signs for railway stations.
