The Lanarkshire Steel Works was founded at Flemington near Motherwell in 1889.
The company made a variety of steel products until taken over by Colville's in the 1930s, after which it concentrated on making large steel sections like girders.
This token was used given to an employee so that they could collect their weekly wage at the end of the week.
