Section of Steel Bar, 1983

This is a sample of the last steel to be rolled by No.1 Bar Mill at Clyde Alloy's Craigneuk Steel Works on 9 March 1983.

Clyde Alloy specialised in making high quality steel alloys such as stainless steel. In the 1950s it became a subsidiary of the Motherwell-based steel giant Colvilles.
