Garratt Articulated Locomotive, 1956

This huge locomotive was built by the North British Locomotive Co in Springburn, Glasgow to haul coal trains for South African Railways. The loco was in service during the racist Apartheid system that stopped Black people from doing anything but menial jobs on the railway.
