Trade union member's card, AEU

A membership card of the Amalgamated Engineering Union (AEU). This union's pedigree really goes back to the 1820s, but it existed under the AEU name between 1920 and 1968, absorbing many smaller unions under the name. After 1968, the union went through a series of transformations, taking on many different names as it merged with various other unions.
