Lithuanian Model House, around 1980

This hand-carved wooden box with hinged lid has been modelled in the form of a Lithuanian agricultural worker's house. Due to the country’s extensive forests, almost all buildings in the smaller towns and villages of Lithuania were traditionally built of wood, often with elaborate details.
