ACME Whistle, early 1900s

“The Acme Thunderer” whistle was produced by J. Hudson & Co. of Birmingham. Introduced as the world’s first sports whistle in 1884, it was renowned for reaching a high decibel level. This is originally believed to be a police whistle but was used for sporting events.
